Standard Workplace Emergency First Aid (BC)

Two-day course offering an overview of first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for the workplace. Day 1 is a Workplace Emergency First Aid (WEFA) course which is the equivalent of WorkSafe BC’s Occupational First Aid Level 1. Day 2 is the second day of a Standard First Aid course. The WEFA course meets OHS regulations and is accepted by WorkSafe BC.
Certification
3 Year Certification in Workplace Emergency First Aid (Level 1 equivalent) with CPR level A, C or HCP and AED.
Teacher
Canadian Red Cross WEFA Instructor for day 1 and Canadian Red Cross Instructor for Day 2
Pre-Requisites
- 16 years of age (recommended)
- Psychological First Aid - Self-Care online course (required for blended option only)
Completion
- 100% attendance, skills demonstration
- 70% Pass on Written Exam

Duration:
16 hours (day 1 must be 7 hours of instruction)
Recertification
No recertification for WEFA Component
